ABA Highly Qualified Staff With Safety Care
“Safety-Care teaches staff a wide range of verbal and physical prevention strategies (what to be aware of, how to approach a person, how to stand, how to sit, what to say, how to say it, how to support other staff, etc.). The preventative focus is designed to be an active part of an organization’s restraint prevention and elimination initiative. Our goal is to help you prevent crises so you don’t have to manage them. If there is a crisis, we provide safe and effective tools for management, too.”
Advance Behavior Analysis employs a full time Safety Care trainer. This allows us to have an experienced person on staff who can step in to assist in de escalating and ensuring safe and ethical procedures are used.

Meet our in-house Safety Care trainer!
Karla has been part of the ABA team since October 2017. Prior to joining our team, she worked for twelve years with adults with disabilities in many different settings including direct support, job coaching, group home management, and guardianship.
In addition to working for ABA, she also works with the elderly community. Throughout her career, she has worked with persons in a spectrum of abilities and varying challenges ranging in ages from 2-92+.As our Safety Care trainer, she teaches us how to effectively keep our clients and ourselves safe through de-escalation techniques. As part of her training, she stresses the importance of communicating respect and promoting dignity at all times.
She is currently working toward a degree in Social Work. Her goal in Social Work is to promote acceptance and advocate for those who don’t always have a voice.
Outside of work, you can find Karla gardening, sewing, hiking, and spending time with family, most of all her two children and her grandpuppy.
She finds such joy in her work and being able to celebrate those small accomplishments and milestones and those little moments that make our job worthwhile.
